Rachel Labovitch – Mezzo-Soprano

British and American mezzo-soprano Rachel Labovitch has been described as terrific, sultry, graceful, “owns the stage,” triumphant, and “one who steals the show.” Her voice and classically trained acting background have landed her such roles as Carmen with Vox Viceralis Opera, Dorabella from Cosi fan tutte with Mission Opera, Stephano from Romeo er Juliette with Mission Opera and Nicklausse from Tales of Hoffman with Somis Opera. She played Romeo from I Capuleti e i Montecchi with Hawkmore Opera, Cherubino from Le Nozze di Figaro with Celestial Opera, Mark Smeton from Anna Bolena with Opera by the Glass, Prince Orlovsky from Die Fledermaus with Landmark Opera, Polina and Olga from Queen of Spades and Eugine Onegin with Independent Opera Company. She sung the role of Flora from La Traviata twice, both with the Independent Opera Company and Opera Prima Vera.
Rachel has sung in many concerts, galas and oratorios. She was the alto soloist for Bach’s Christmas Oratorio for the Rolling Hills United Methodist Church as well as the alto soloist for Mozart’s Requiem with Mission Opera.
Rachel hails from Kent, England and currently resides in Los Angeles.
