Jennifer Miller
Soprano Jennifer Miller is a resident of Southern California and recently sang her first lead role as Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust with Los Angeles-based Celestial Opera Company. Ms. Miller earned her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and currently studies with baritone Zeffin Quinn Hollis. Her recent engagements have included Nixon in China, La Traviata, The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, Giulio Cesare, and the world-premiere of Kenneth Wells’ The First Lady, based on the life of Eleanor Roosevelt. In addition to her opera credits, she is an active choral singer, having performed as soprano section leader and soloist with The Verdi Chorus, Los Angeles Choral Artists, Westminster Singers, Virginia Symphony Chorus, and the Virginia Beach-based women’s ensemble Bellissima. She is also an enthusiastic supporter of new music, having commissioned and performed original works by Deborah Carr, David Layne, and Dr. Shane McDonald. Ms. Miller has performed as the soprano soloist in Poulenc’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Stravinsky’s Mass. She was also the featured vocal soloist and pianist with the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Jazz Ensemble, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. Ms. Miller currently serves as soprano section leader at San Marino Community Church and as a regular substitute and soloist with the Chancel Choir of First Presbyterian Church of Monrovia, both located in Southern California.
